What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work the same way. This policy covers all of them.

Our approach

maptiq.eu uses no advertising cookies, and the website itself sets no cookies. The only thing it stores in your browser is your choice on the cookie banner (in local storage, under the name maptiq-analytics-consent).

Two third-party services can store data in your browser: Google Analytics only after you click “Accept” on the banner, hCaptcha only after you start using the contact form. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

Google Analytics, for visitor statistics

If you accept, Google Analytics 4 measures how the website is used: which pages are opened, from which country and device, and how long visitors stay. It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<ID> (lifetime up to 2 years) and sends the data to Google. We have switched on IP address anonymisation. If you decline or do not choose, Google Analytics is not loaded and nothing is sent.

  • Provider: Google Ireland Limited, with Google LLC, USA (Google privacy policy)
  • When: only after you click “Accept”
  • Type: statistics, based on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time

hCaptcha, on the contact form

When you start filling in the contact form, the hCaptcha spam check loads from hCaptcha’s servers. hCaptcha may set technically necessary cookies, such as hmt_id and hc_accessibility, and store data in your browser to tell people from bots. Without this check the form cannot be sent.

  • Provider: Intuition Machines, Inc., USA (hCaptcha privacy policy)
  • When: only after you start using the contact form
  • Type: strictly necessary for the form you chose to use

How to control cookies

You can view, delete and block cookies in your browser’s settings. If you block third-party cookies, the website keeps working, although the contact form may ask you to allow them. You can always write to us directly at info@maptiq.eu.
